Larian once again reminds us it’s ‘not involved in any BG3-related projects’ in response to Karlach comic reveal

Larian Studios has reiterated that it is fully, 100%, without a doubt, donezo in the bunzo when it comes to new Baldur’s Gate-related projects. It’s latest statement was in response to a Dark Horse comics announcement that could have been interpreted as implying the studio’s involvement.

On X, “The Everything App,” Dark Horse announced that a yet-untitled comic series starring Karlach , our favorite BG3 companion, is coming down the pike. The issue: Dark Horse signed off its post by saying the project was “With [Larian] and [Wizards of the Coast],” tagging both companies.

Makes sense. I mean, Larian famously did make Baldur’s Gate 3 and the character of Karlach in the first place. But the studio seems keen to head off any suggestion that it is involved in Wizards of the Coast’s post-BG3 spinoff projects.

“Maximum hijinks are happening right now, but we’re not involved in any BG3 related projects,” the official Larian account wrote in response alongside a picture of CEO Swen Vincke and writing lead Adam Smith doing some kind of script read-through. “As soon as we bust outta here, we’ll share more about [Divinity].”
